a lost tooth

This girl is growing up too fast! She lost her first tooth last night with a "little" help from mom. All right, I  pretty much ripped the thing out. She kept complaining about it though and every night would have Jon try to get it out. It was very wiggly and loose, but had kind of a long root on it, and it didn't want to come out. So unfortunately her first experience with losing a tooth was painful and some tears were shed. But she was a happy girl when she woke up and found what the tooth fairy had brought.

jaedon's baptism

Jaedon was baptized today, and we had quite the day filled with fun events. Jaedon has been wanting and wanting to go on a boat. So we rented a boat through the base and headed out into the open sea. The kids loved it, and we mostly spent our time in the bayou and swam around in it. It was wonderful all around.

These next photos are of a little shoot that we did last week. While editing pictures you can see all the details of people. :) And while editing Jaedon's I realized how much he has grown and matured. He's not my little buddy anymore.

Jaedon was baptized and confirmed by Jon. My parents were able to come and so we put them to work. :) My mom said the opening prayer and played the piano, and my dad gave a talk on baptism and the Holy Ghost. Besides ourselves the were 2 other families that came that we have gotten to know in the ward, 2 members of the bishopric, and someone from the primary presidency. We did miss other family members and especially Scott and Claudia that weren't able to make it. (Dang living far away from everyone).

We then came home and celebrated with some pizza sticks and root beer floats and a little movie.
It was a wonderful day and we are so happy with Jaedon's decision to be baptized. He is such a wonderful boy with a heart full of love.

sofia and jaedon's birthdays

Sofia turned 4 years old on the 10th. 6 days after we arrived here in Florida. It was kind of chaotic, but hopefully she felt special and still enjoyed her day.
When we would ask her what she wanted for her birthday, and while at the store to see what toys she liked, she told us she just wanted clothes. What!? Who's child is this!? :)
She did find one barbie toy that she said she did like though. And of course it was just the perfect accessory to go with her "clothes".
For her birthday cake she said she wanted a Hello Kitty cake. Which was easy since we have a mold from Livy's birthday last year. And then Sofia wanted to decorate it herself. So my job was even easier. To be honest I was kind of happy that she wanted it that way, since we were still quite overwhelmed with getting the house put together.

Jaedon turned the big number 8 this year! And all he has wanted is a Kindle Fire. He actually told us he wanted this about in January so we told him the only way he would probably get one is if he paid for half. So, surprisingly he saved and saved his allowance quite faithfully.
Since he was only getting the Kindle ,and we had lots of boxes,  I decided to pack it up in a big box and progressively get smaller.
The whole time I kept aksing him what he thought it was. He just kept responding with , "I don't know." I think the big box threw him off, and thought he might be getting something else other than a kindle. It was nice to see him still excited for it.
And to go with the present, we made a Kindle Fire cake, and of course of him playing a roller coaster game.
Love both of these kids more than ever, and can't wait for Jaedon's baptism.

easter

My blogging is almost non-existent lately.
I just don't have the camera out as much as I should, or I am taking pictures on my phone instead. But here is Easter. Jon and I were in Florida and came home really late Saturday night, so we missed the egg hunt. But Scott and Claudia did not disappoint and we even found a couple more when cleaning things up, making dinner, and putting on shoes and coats. :)
Jack woke up first, and I put him down by the kitchen table to get his sippy cup of milk from the fridge, and by that time he had all ready discovered what the Easter Bunny brought him.
Jaedon was next up and thought he had to wait for everyone else to wake up before he could start looking. Finally we told him he could start looking and he didn't hesitate.
 Sofia then found hers...
Livy is our child that sleeps in and so she was last to find hers up on top of the computer desk.

2nd grade music

Well, I wanted to upload a video, but apparently I have to upload to YouTube first, which I don't want to do. So I guess I will just email it to the grandparents.
Jaedon had his 2nd grade music program last Thursday and as always he was so excited and looking forward to it for quite some time.
For Christmas one of the things on his list was a xylophone, like he plays in class. The teacher told me also that out of her harder pieces he is one of the kids that can be able to play them.
Not in the best spot for a picture. :)

IT'S CHRISTMAS!!

Sorry about the blurry pictures, but there was a lot of excitement happening!
Everyone showing off some of their goods.
Santa brought us the Polar Express train and this was quite entertaining for all.
Jaedon has been on a Lilo and Stitch kick (who knows why), and so asked for a Stitch doll. He even kept telling everyone that he was asking Santa for something, but then wouldn't tell anyone what it was. Well, I finally figured it out, and he wanted a Stitch spaceship that he could fly. Um, I don't think Santa can bring that.
We got an American Girl doll catalog and the girls would not put the thing down! Well, since American Girl dolls are way too expensive, they got the next best thing from Tar-jay. They don't know the difference and call them their American Girl dolls.
Sofia was showing how her little dolls could dance.
 Princess Olivia
 "decisions, decisions..."
The girls love the movie Brave and so Livy got this bow and arrow set...
I think we need to work on her form.
 Lovin' her "American Girl" doll
 "So pretty," as Sofia said.
We are so grateful for the Christmas season to reflect upon our Savior and all that he has done, and continually does for us. Hope that everyone had a very merry Christmas!

christmas eve

Finally have time to get caught up a little bit. On Christmas Eve we had our family program. Here are all the kiddos ready for it to begin.
Livy asked us a bunch of questions about Christmas...
Sofia sang Jingle Bells... (with Jack's help)
And Jaedon read us a story of how he almost saw Santa. (with Jack's help as well)
Then present time came to open ornaments and pj's...
Jack was always, and is always, on the move.
 Love Livy's expression in these...
who knew pj's would be so exciting!
