Jon's been at it again...

I woke up in the middle of night, one of the many due to sick kids. But this time I woke up because of Jon. I don't know why I really woke up, probably just instinct, but as I open my eyes, I see Jon with his arm up, grabbing the picture frame that hangs over our bed..., and our heads! I asked what he was doing and I can't remember what he said, because I was really out of it too, but I remember trying to tell him to stop and just leave the picture alone, and that everything is okay. Well, next thing I know Jon has the big picture frame in his hands, and who knows what he was going to do with it. So, I grabbed it and put it down on the floor, and fell back asleep. Then, of course this morning, Jon asks if he did that! We both just chuckled.

This is what it is supposed to look like:

This is what it looked like this morning! :)

Following in brother's footsteps...or crawl...steps

When Jaedon started crawling he didn't do your regular normal crawl. He did an army crawl forever, and his shirts would get so dirty from dragging himself around every where. Well, today I laid Livy down on the floor, and Jaedon and his friend Bennett, had the little race car track out, and apparently Olivia really wanted it. So off she went to get it..., army style.

Enjoying the warm weather

It was such a beautiful day today, it was hard to NOT be outside. Olivia just absolutely loved it! She was being kind of whiny, and then when we got outside, she was just so pleasant, and looking around and just enjoying it. And of course, Jaedon always loves to be outside. He would be out there all day even in the winter... barefoot!

Some random thoughts...

Jaedon is doing awesome at potty training!! He hasn't had an accident since the 3rd day of potty training. And is now letting us know when he needs to go. But he says he needs to poop everytime, but really means pee. We just need to work on the over night thing now. I love going to work out, and just getting ready for the day. (As soon as I can pull myself out of bed that is). Today while walking on the tread mill there was a guy about 40's to 50's there riding a bike, and when he stood up, he had some MAJOR BCS!! (What is BCS? It doesn't have to do with college sports... it stands for Bum Crack Sweat) I wish I would have had a camera, because he looked like he had pee-ed his pants! Then on the news there was a couple selling their house in New Mexico, and you could get this house for only 100 dollars. All you have to do is sumbit $100, and write a 500 word essay. It looked like a pretty nice house too. The girl looked kind of like Britney Spears too! And last, we only have 2 more weeks and we are taking off to go see family!!!!

Where do I start...

Let's see... Friday, Jaedon, Livy and I went to a place called Bounce U. It had all of these "bounce" toys from a basketball hoop, slide, tug of war, and obstacle courses that kids and adults could run around and bounce their brains out! So where's the pictures you ask...? Well, I forgot the camera! Then that evening we went to a BBQ, for AMA or AMSA (med student stuff), where they roasted a pig. Jaedon loved playing with the dogs that were there, but was kind of hesitant with the big ones, but loved the little poodle one and wanted to "care-yit". Then that night I went to a little "dress up" get-together, and got my hair done up, make-up put on, and had a little photo shoot. Love girls night out!
Saturday was quite the day though. We made plans to go to the zoo at DC, and then go to the temple. Pretty easy right...? Well, didn't really turn out so easy. We left about 9am, made a stop in between so Jaedon could go the bathroom, and when I took Livy out of the car seat, she had had a blow out. So, into the bathroom we went as a family and conquered the mess. Then once in DC it seemed to take 20 minutes to get to point A to B, which really should have taken like 5 minutes. LOVE DC traffic!! (sense the sarcasm) We finally arrived at the zoo but then had to spend forever trying to find a parking place, which wasn't fun either because Livy was starving, and she was definitely letting us know about her situation! Finally we parked, met up with Liz (Jon's sister), and headed off into the zoo. Well, just the walk from the car into the zoo Jon started to sneeze, get a runny nose, and red, itchy eyes. Livy and I found a bench to combat the hunger pains, and Jon, Jaedon and Liz headed off to see some of the animals. When they came back to Livy and I, poor Jon was starting to look kind of bad. We tried to look and see if some shop had some kind of medicine. No luck! Well, Jaedon really wanted to see the elephants. So we looked at some of the other animals on our way. We saw some lions, seals, sea lions, lemur, beaver, hippo, monkeys... well you get the point. But not much time was spent at each spot, for with each step Jon just kept getting worse and worse. The sneezes became more frequent, the eyes more redder, (and the reddest I have EVER seen them!) and the lungs starting to tighten. Jon said he has never had allergies this bad, other than the time he started working on the farm and realized that he DID have allergies. So, we then decided to head out before we needed to send Jon to the hospital. At this point we decided that we probably weren't going to go to the temple and to just go to Liz's apartment and atleast spend some time with her. Well just the ride from the zoo to the Liz's place Jon started to feel alot better, so something there at the zoo was not liking Jon. We stopped at McDonalds to get something to eat, and Livy had another blow out! After all of this drama though, we then decided to go to the temple anyways, and Liz was very generous to still watch the kids. Thanks Liz! So, we didn't get home until about 12am!! It was a long, eventful day!!

Jaedon was not very happy to take pictures
The monkeys had a fun "monkey run".
Livy enjoying the zoo, while the rest of the bunch went into the Reptile House. (Where Jon's lungs started to really tighten!)
Finally, the elephants!!

ZOOM ZOOM

We took a trip to Paoli, PA (Where in the world is that!? Almost to Philly), and went and bought this beauty for Jon to drive for next year to his rotations, and not to leave me stranded home all day without a vehicle.

Jon was like a little kid in a candy store...he had a grin from ear to ear that was hard to hide.
Oh, and alittle update on Jaedon's potty training... he has been doing very well. We have had accidents here and there, but as long as we remind him to go, he goes. It is funny though, because each time he goes, he gets SO excited that he is going peepee on the potty! We are pretty excited too.

Talk about mood swings!

SO, I have had quite the day so far and it is only 1100 am. Last night we went to Wal-Mart to get diapers and wipes, and they didn't have any of Jaedon's size in the Parents Choice. So Jon then says, "Well, I guess this means Jaedon is getting potty trained!" Of course I just rolled my eyes at the idea because we have attempted many times to accomplish this, thus my previous post of any tips. Well, when we got home Jaedon pooped and I went and got a diaper and realized we really don't have all that many diapers left, so I decided, let's put underwear on. So we did. He never had to go by the time it was time to go to bed, but we did ask and atleast sit on the potty. Well, this morning Jon got up with Jaedon and put underwear on him again. But of course this means that it is up to me to deal with this potty training all day, since Jon is gone to school all day. I was sitting here at the computer doing my morning checks of emails and blogs, and I hear a noise I don't quite recognize, and I look over and there is Jaedon standing over a little puddle that is starting to form around him. Needless to say there was quite the one sided conversation that followed this event. But during it we went and sat on the potty so hopefully he would understand that this is where we go peepee. So we put on another pair of underwear and was going to see if we could make any progress. Well, oddly enough I was sitting at the computer again, but I was feeding Livy, and looking at the computer gives me something to do, rather than just sitting there. Any ways, Jaedon was kind of looking uncomfortable, so I told him to go sit on the potty, this took alittle of persuasion, but he went into the bathroom, but quickly came out because he couldn't get his underwear off. He finally got them off, and then had to take his shirt off also. Why do kids have to be naked when they sit on the toilet? Well, alittle bit later I hear him say joyfully, "I go peepee in the potty!" My reply wasn't probably the best one, but I said, "Oh yeah, good job." Thinking to myself, "Yeah right." But then I hear some banging around of the potty, and then the toilet flushed. So I thought that maybe he just used the potty to get up on the toilet, and the banging around of the potty was just him standing on it getting off of the toilet. But then, he came running down the hall and was so excited and said, "I go peepee on the potty, now I go to Chuck E Cheese!" (That has been our bribe for him to go potty) So I thought, "Wow, maybe he really did go to the bathroom." But remember I am confined to my chair, so I couldn't really go and check things out right away. But when I, or rather Livy, was done, I walked in there and there was a trace of alittle yellow liquid in the potty! So he must have gone. Then later I was feeding Olivia some cereal, and Jaedon went running out of the room, and then I hear, "I WENT PEEPEE ON THE POTTY!!!" So this time I went running into the bathroom, and sure enough there was a yellow lake in the potty! I couldn't believe it! A joyous chorus then began to sing 'Halleluhah!', and angels playing their trumpets! Jaedon then grabbed the bowl of yellow liquid and dumped it into the toilet and then flushed. So I am not saying he is potty-trained, but we have definitely made some HUGE progress! Are you wondering about the title, well, take into consideration that Jaedon peed on the floor, and then later I realized that I left all the stuff from Wal-Mart in the back of the car, and there were things that needed to be refrigerated. And Jaedon hasn't been quite an angel lately. I think the terrible two's are finally catching up with him, so he had all ready spent quite some time in 'time-out'. So I went from crying and having a self pitty party, to having an awesome day that Jaedon finally has figured out the whole potty business. (So far, atleast) :)

Just pictures...

Jaedon did this at preschool a couple of weeks ago, they planted some grass in the shape of the letter that started with their names, so of course it is a 'J'! He really enjoyed watching the grass come up and grow really big.
I really don't have anything to say about these pictures, other than I just think they are cute. :)

What happens during Conference...

It is just as hard to watch General Conference on TV, as it is to go to church, and listen and learn, and feel of the spirit. So to keep Jaedon entertained, so we could get something out of the talks given, we let Jaedon watch Monsters Inc. on the portable DVD player. He had to watch one of the little extra clips, because he has watched it so much and man-handled the DVD that the original movie would not play. The first time he watched it, he was just busting up laughing. But by the time I got around to recording it, it was about the 3rd or 4th time, and the hilarious laugh had kind of died down, and had turned into a forced laugh. But right at first when he starts to laugh you can tell how the first laugh went, but just alittle longer... and he says "silly" at the end if you can't tell.

And as for Livy and I, we had a little pedicure and manicure.
She has found her toes now also with the polish on them, so she folds in half, and sucks away!

I don't get it?

So here is a question to everyone and anyone. What is the big deal with facebook? I only ask this because I have recently become a "member", but I don't get it. I really haven't played around with it that much to see what all the features are, but it seems like a modified-super-sized email account, but everyone that is a "friend" can view everything and anything that someone writes to you. Or is it a competition to show who has the most "friends"? :) The only thing that really got my attention was that there is unlimited space for photos! But again, if I upload ALL of my pictures are all of my "friends" going to see them? Or is it a super-sized reunion.com or classmates.com? Can you do a 'live' chat between "friends"? Or have we all just joined because "that is what everyone else is doing"? That's why I did! :) This also brings up another question. Why do people go private on their blogs? I am not saying it is a bad idea, but does anyone have any stories of people stealing their identities, or having creepy people come and stalk them? I know I look on other peoples blogs that I have no clue who they are, but I am not going to go and hunt them down. (I know, I know, there are crazy weirdos that would though). I am just interested in why people do...go private that is. And what is it about facebook?

In advance, thanks to those of you who will comment and help me out with this little dilemma or curiosity that I am having right now. :)
