happy halloween

We have had Halloween celebrations for the past 3 days now. Been busy, but had fun doing it.
Since taking pictures with my new camera I have noticed how photogenic Livy actually is. And some of them I am amazed how "model" like she can look. There will be a whole other post on some pics of that.
On Friday we got ready to go to Jaedon's school and have a little party there with him and his friends.
Sof was not being happy.
Yep not happy. But once she got to the party and got a popcorn ball she was just peachy... or more like green.
The majority of Jaedon's class. Jaedon is Batman in the front row.
Then on Saturday the Base put on a free Festival. And they actually had a lot of cool stuff. The Air Force has treated us good.
Livy is digging for her prize...
Jaedon wasn't digging, just throwing the straw around until he saw something
On the lookout of what to do next.
Here's a pic where Sof isn't bawling her eyes out.
Painting their pumpkins
Then today we made some yummy Halloween sugar cookies
See, model material. Or is it just because I am her mom?
Let the frosting begin.
This is how Sof helped...
by eating all the goods.
Then we went Trick or Treating just to a few of our good neighbors. Sof
helped herself to alot of things. If people left the bowl of candy there, she would just keep taking and taking and taking. This house has a reflective front door, which the kids thought was great.
This is the best I could get of them all looking at me.

Hope every one had a great Halloween!!

sisters

The other day I left Sof and Livy watching TV while I went and took a shower. While getting dressed I could hear Sofia talking loudly, which she does if she is doing something she isn't sometimes. So I was prepping myself for the worst when I walked down the stairs. I thought maybe she would be up on the counter, or table or even her new spot, the coffee table, but I couldn't see her. I could hear Livy giving kisses though, so as I made my way into the room and around the rocker I found the 2 of them together doing this...
It was one of those moments that you just feel so blessed.

family night=pumpkin night

For Family Home Evening it just so happened that we were having pizza that night, and I thought it would be fun for the kids to make Jack-O-Lantern pizzas. So here are their creations.
I even decked out the big pizza. Then onto the pumpkin carving... No pictures of them carving though, because they both did not want anything to do with the guts of the pumpkin. But Jaedon did want to try the seeds roasted, which we did, and he liked them. But here's how they looked when we, or I should say I was all finished. (Jon did get home in time to carve the little one for Sof though)

more than a handful

Sofia is by far our child that has been the biggest handful. She is everywhere, and into everything. She is a child with no fear. Which can be quite scary at times. She has wandered off twice now and the last time was down around the corner, and our neighbor happened to see her and picked her up and brought her home. (Just for the record Jon was watching her that time)
And now her latest is jumping off of the ottoman onto the chair. And actually while I am typing this she is deciding to ju...yep, she just jumped off of the ottoman to the ground this time. She is crazy! At least she is having fun and laughing about it.
Her shirt is off because we just had spaghetti for dinner.

carnival

At the first of this month Jaedon had a carnival at his school. (I thought I better get caught up on some things I haven't posted yet). It was a fun time with lots, and lots to do.
2 silly clowns
Playing some of the games so they could win prizes at the end of the carnival Throwing pies in teachers faces. This was one of the main ones that Jaedon had to make sure he did. And of course the Bouncy House was TOP on the list as well.
Sof wishing she could get in there Time for some dinner. Sofia would get so mad if you tried helping her with her monster slice Playing the "junk food" walk. We played this thing like 50 times and only won once.
Time for some treats! I think this was Sofia's favorite part of the night.
Livy got a unicorn balloon
and Jaedon got a dog
For their prizes they chose some googly eyes
and vampire teeth

30, 5k, kitchen

This past Friday, the 15th, I celebrated the big 30! It has been great so far. Jon truly loves me! He got me this little baby...
We then finished putting up our tile for our back splash. (pictures at the end of the post). He then took me out to dinner, sushi! And we enjoyed a meal kid less. Then we picked up the kids and had some yummy ice cream cake. (Sadly, this is the only picture taken the whole day) Then on Saturday I rang in 30 with a bang by running a 5k with a time of 26:21. I came in 4th, and if I would have been just a minute faster I could have taken 3rd and won 50 bucks! (Yeah it wasn't a very big race) Remember this picture? This is the before. White plain porcelain tile, with old counter tops. Demo time! No back splash or counter tops. New countertops! I must take a moment and thank my dad for the example he has set. If you know my dad he is quite the handyman, Mr. fix-it, Jack of all trades kind of guy. I may have never helped him actually do some things while growing up, but I am definitely a very observant person and would watch the things he would do. I am so glad that I did, because it gave me hope in putting up the drywall and then tiling the back splash. Thanks dad, I was sure wishing you were here to help many times. :)
And the finished product!
We were pretty impressed with our "skills", and are happy the way it has turned out. Now trying to get the house put back together after the weeks of putting off cleaning.
