half way there

I am officially half way through this pregnancy... and all I got to show for it is being 10 lbs. heavier, and this...

I am not complaining at all though. This pregnancy has been a good one, although the other ones have been that way as well. But of course the baby was measuring in the 90th percentile for weight from the ultrasound. No surprises there! We like to grow 'em big.

These next pictures I just thought they were cute. The first 2, Jaedon and Livy were walking around the front room in heels. But if you ask Jaedon, they are 'pretend glass slippers.'

This one, Jon was studying on the chair, and Jaedon and Livy grabbed a book and both had to sit on his lap, and be like dad.

Here at our household we have felt like we are having a girl. Do you think our intuition was right?

Well..., it is a..., GIRL!!! Of course now the question is... "what names are you thinking of?" That will be for a later post. ;) hahahaha

crafting bug

This last week I have had all these ideas for things to make. But they have turned out to be more of a headache at times rather than being peaceful, and enjoyable, and rewarding. First off, I made this tutu for a friend, and the waist turned out to be a little smaller than I wanted it to be. Hopefully it fits.

Second, I had this great idea of making these 'seek and find' toys. Well, these were the biggest headache of all! The plastic that I used kept sticking to the sewing machine, the sewing machine foot, and kept bunching up. Finally after many frustration attempts, I decided to grab the cooking spray, sprayed a little on my finger and wiped it under the foot, and WA-la! It worked like a charm. And I think I put in too much rice.

Third, I made this Boppy pillow cover. At first I borrowed a cover from a friend and traced that, and then cut it out. Then I found a pattern online, and well, they didn't really match up. So then I decided to just trace it right off of the pillow. Cutting out another pattern of fabric. Well, when I got all done, I found out that it was way too small and that my zipper that I used was pretty small as well. You need at least a 20 inch zipper. So then it was back to the first pattern that I had cut out and tried managing things from that one. Well, it fit, but it doesn't look too pretty. But I guess it does what it needs to do.

And then I had one more project that I want to do... reupholster our rocking chair cushions. But after all this, I think I am going to wait a bit until I attempt that great task.

duck, duck, goose

So Jaedon has been stuck on playing the "duck, duck, goose" game lately. He wants to play it when there is just 2 of you too! But the greatest I think is watching Livy play it.

sweet valentine

Friday afternoon we made some Valentine's for Jon. Jaedon was very excited about this..., and of course Livy always just has to be doing what Jaedon is doing, so she loved it too. Then this morning Jon woke up with the kids, and let me sleep in a little bit. He took the kids to the store and let Jaedon pick out what to get me. Of course he picked PINK flowers, a PRINCESS card, and always a favorite, a BALLOON!! I just love my family. Jaedon has been telling us all day, "Happy 'Balentines' Day!!

FYI

So this is going to be a boring post, because there are no pictures. Why, you might ask? Because our computer is on the fritz!! There is a love/hate relationship with technology around our house at times. So just a couple of things. First, some people have been asking and questioning, if and when we find out the gender of the baby. Yes we are finding out. We are not the "surprise" kind of people when it comes to something like this. We will find out FEB. 20th. And since we are on the subject of the baby...did you know that the little moving baby on the sidebar does some fun things!? My favorite is the one that you can tickle the baby and it laughs. Just drag your mouse over on the little colorful buttons and a light can turn on, you can zoom in, or tickle the baby. Just have fun with it! I thought there was something else I was going to talk about...but I can't think of it right now. BLAST being pregnant and tired!!!

Superman, or Batman?

The other day as I was checking out one of my friends blog, I noticed that on her sidebar she had a "Super Hero Cape". So, I clicked on it curious to see if it was anything that maybe I could do... low and a behold, it was the cape that I have been wanting to make for Jaedon!! There is a little history behind it. At Christmas time we were over at my brother's house and their boy had a cape just like this. Jaedon pretty much wore it the whole entire time we were over there. And with that said, he has not taken it off!! Other than when we were at church of course.
