"I got it!"

We were on our way to Independence Hall this morning with my mom and grandparents. We were coming back home from Atlantic City, and thought we would stop there. Well, we were using my mom's Verizon's Navigator. And let's just say we got led astray..., an hour and a half led astray. But we made it eventually. But while trying to figure out where we were and where to go, Jaedon pipes up from the back of the van: Jaedon: "Mom, I gotta go potty." Me: "Oh, brother... well, can you hold it?" Jaedon: "Yeah." ...silence Jaedon: "I got it!" Me: turning around to see what exactly it was he got...to find him holding himself! We all just busted up. I think I started crying, I was laughing so hard.

Happy number one!!

Our little princess is one year old today! The time sure flies a lot faster with the second, than it did with the first. My mom and grandparents are in town to visit, and so it was fun to have them here to celebrate. Jon's sister, Liz, also came up to be with us as well. We celebrated last night though because we are leaving for New Jersey this afternoon.

Here were the first few bites...

and here is one of the last.

Of course Jaedon was helping...(this actually was a gift for Jaedon and Livy from Liz. Good thinkin' Liz!)

She is giving the kitty kisses

This gift is probably a little much for a one year old, but it only cost me $20. (Thanks Mandy!) So I couldn't resist.

Jaedon loves it just as much and is quite the driver.

glass door

Livy had her year appointment today. She was OFF the charts for her height at 31 and 1/4 inches. And just barely, almost in the 95th percentile for her weight, which was 24.4 pounds. Funny thing happened though while leaving the office. I was holding Livy and Jaedon got to the glass doors and pushed the handicap button to open the door. He was a little ways in front of us though, and so Livy started to squirm to get down. So I put her down, and she sees Jaedon all ready through the door and out in the little corridor place to go through another door. Well, next to the door there is a glass window. As soon as Livy saw Jaedon she took off and ... WHACK!! (some guy in the background, "OH!") Face smashed up against the glass and then she was knocked back onto her behind. She looked up at me like, "What in the world just happened!?" The nice mom that I am, pick her up and we walk outside. But only so that I can laugh uncontrollably for a few minutes. I did feel bad, but at the same time it was unbelievably funny!! Which then brought me to another thought, or memory of myself. I believe I was still in elementary, but I was at my friend Kate's house, and her grandma just lived right down the road. I don't remember now why we went down there. I believe we were looking for something, or getting something. Anyways, as we were leaving, (being young and vibrant youth), I went dashing for the "sliding glass door", which I thought was opened...then out of no where, I was flat on my back!! Oh, I still get the biggest kick out of it.

things here and there

Little Miss Livy's hair is long enough now that I was able to braid it. It looked really cute!
Last week we had our friend Bennett over to play. Jaedon AND Livy were so excited to have someone to play with. Jaedon and Bennett were pretty cute with Livy, and they would each get on one side of her and hold her hand, and then walk around and then fall down together. They thought this was the greatest! And here are some shots of Jaedon and Livy sportin' the bike helmets. (Jaedon has an ice cream mustache...in case you were wondering if he all of a sudden hit puberty or something)

I'm missing something...

my cute husband!!
Have you seen him!?
I have said that Jon's surgery rotation hasn't been too bad. Well, it is starting to take a toll on me! Let me just vent for a little bit and tell you all how I feel.
ALONE!
I told myself way before I even met Jon, and was working as a CNA, that I was NOT going to marry a doctor! I saw how much they were at the hospital, rather than doing stuff they wanted to be doing, or how little they got to see their families. So I vowed that I would never marry a doctor. Many years past, blah, blah, blah..., and I met Jon.
First date, we had the typical conversation of "what are you studying, or going into?" Jon's answer, "I want to be a doctor." My reaction, (of course kept to myself), "AH, NUTS!" "No way I am marrying him!" Well, 4 months later, yep, we were married!!
And now, I am a married-single mother. (If that makes sense.)
I love this man more than life itself. And that is why it is so hard right now.

The things they learn...

It amazes me at times how quick little kiddos can pick up on things. For instance, Livy loves our cell phones. She used to love them to chew and slobber all over, but now she loves to talk on them. It is pretty funny to watch her and listen to what she "tries" to say. Don't worry, she is using an old phone that is no longer in service...in case you were wondering. I wonder who she is talking to and what they are talking about. I think she is a busy woman though, because the conversations don't last long, but she sure has plenty of calls to make.

Working again...

No, I did not get a job and join the working force again. Our internet has been running REALLY slow, and today they came out and fixed it. I guess something was wrong with our modem. So now we are back to high-speed internet! Funny the things that we take for granted and miss when they are gone.

So for a little update of the past week: Jon's cousin Mike and his family live in Columbia, Maryland, and decided to come and visit for Labor Day. They have a little girl that is 10 days younger than Jaedon, Sofia. And a little boy that is a month or so older than Livy. It was fun to see Jaedon and Sofia interact. They were both really shy at first, but after just a little bit, they were best friends!! I personally think they could be brother and sister. Which is interesting because I think Jaedon takes after my side of the family more in looks...
This is them meeting each other for the first time at Liz's wedding before both of them turned 1.
And here they are reunited again...! Having some fun at Chocolate World.
This one is my favorite...Jaedon's little smile makes me laugh.
Jon started his surgery rotation this week as well. It hasn't been as awful as I thought, so that is good. He is doing ENT (ear, nose, throat) right now, and says he has some weird fascination about surgery. What ever that is supposed to mean. So for me and the kids we have been doing little things here and there to keep ourselves busy. The other day I went and got a month pass to swim to help me get ready for my triathlon, and then we went and played at Cocoa Castle. It was hot and poor Little Livy was sweating to death, so we didn't stay too long. But anything to get out for a little bit.
