oompa-loompa, turkey leg, and tree

I really need to download my pictures more often. But here are 3 posts, lumped into one.
First off is Sofia trying to turn herself into an oompa-loompa...
by doing this and more of this. And then she went straight to the bathtub. At Thanksgiving dinner, Jon was eating one of the legs, and Sof decided that she wanted a go at it.
She really liked it!
Full of yummy food.
And then the day after Thanksgiving we went and got our tree and got all of the decorations up.
When I got the camera out, Sofia gave me a big cheeser while saying cheese.
And the kids were putting the "stockings" to good use.
After we got the tree all decorated we watched Polar Express while sipping some yummy hot chocolate.

Let the Christmas season begin!!

happy thanksgiving

I love this time of year! There is such excitement in the air. Most of all though, I like the time that we have to reflect and realize, and think about those things in our lives that are special, and that we are grateful for.
I am grateful for my family, immediate and extended. I am grateful for friends and people that I come in contact with. There is something to be learned from each and every individual. I am grateful for my health, my home, my knowledge of things (all though it may not be much), for my talents, and my trials. I am grateful for a wonderful husband that is there for me and my children, and makes time for us with the little amount of time that he does have. I am grateful for my beautiful children, and what joy and happiness they bring into my life. Most of all I am grateful for my Savior. For all these things would not be possible if not for him. I am grateful for his love that he has for me, that he would give even his life. I am grateful for the way and example that he has laid out for me to follow. I love him, I love my family, and I love all of you. Have a great Thanksgiving.

been busy...

practicing on my photo skills. I must say that it is one thing to see pictures, and think I can totally do that. And then actually doing it, and realizing how hard it actually is. Knowing of the right lighting and shadows, and most of all, poses. I have loved it though and am grateful for my friends to let me practice on them and their families. Here are some of them...
(these boots were worn by the dad when he was a baby. She did have them on in some other shots)
(These are all in black and white per request by the mom.) :D

first snow

We had our first snow fall on Friday evening. The kids, well mainly Jaedon, were just so excited and wanted to go out in it right then. But we made them wait until morning. There was a good 2 inches if not more out there. All that is left now is just what is in the shade though, and even that is going fast.

family photos part 3

All right so last installment of the photos. There are quite a few, but rather than make another post, you will just have to endure the many photos of this one. So this time, I would like to know WHY? Why do you like the photo? What is it about it that makes you like it? And again a big thank you for all your comments. :)

family photos part 2

So here is round 2. Thank you so much for all of the wonderful comments. It was, and is great to see how other people view things, other than just mine and Jon's opinion. So again, comment away.
