big 5

5 years ago I woke up in the middle of the night believing I just had peed my pants! You would think being a nurse I would have realized that I was having contractions and that my water just broke. But at 10:58 AM we were welcoming our first child into this world weighing a whopping 8 pounds 3 oz. and 20 inches long. Jaedon has been such a joy watching grow up these past 5 years. He is a great brother to his 2 younger sisters, and plays and gets along very well with them. He is an easy going child and is a great helper.
The Birthday Boy with a perma smile It was so fun to watch him open his presents. He was SO excited for each one
His little birthday party, they were on a Star Wars treasure hunt. Jaedon said this was his favorite part because they got cotton candy.
The original plan was to make an R2D2 cake, but as I was browsing the web, with Jaedon by my side, he saw some cakes with the Star Wars characters on them and said he wanted one like that, because then he could play with the toys afterwards. He wanted R2D2 and Jar-Jar, but I could not find any. BUT, I did come across this remote control R2D2, and so WHA-la, an R2D2 cake!
As we were all kind of winding down after all the festivities we looked over at Livy to find this. She had put all the tissue paper from the presents on this chair and was pretending to sleep.

the big one

Today our little Sofia turned one! Not so little anymore though. This girl is on the go and thinks she is one of the big kids. She is Miss Independent. And she is still quite the 'mama's girl'.
She loves chicken nuggets, and grapes. And eats both whole. She loves to close any door that is open. She loves to carry around her baby dolls, and climbing in the baby dolls pack and play as well. Here she is at one year old. So full of life and full of personality.
Best idea I ever had. Put the gifts in bags and leave them open so she can see what is inside. She loved pulling everything out of them.
Not too sure about this big cupcake
hmmmm...maybe I will try touching it...
maybe I'll just stick my face in there and see how it tastes...
what is this thing!?
maybe I'll try the no hands approach again...
haha, yeah that doesn't work!
oh yeah, this is more my size
mmmmm...this is good!
Now this size I can handle.
Yeah, Sof didn't want a thing to do with the actual birthday cupcake cake, but as soon as we put a little cupcake in front of her, she dove right in.
Man, we sure do love this girl and are so happy that we are so blessed to have her apart of our life. She is such a character, and has the cutest little smile. We love you Sof!

war zone

When it was about 2 weeks away from the 4th we kept getting warned over and over of how the fireworks are legal here, and that our neighbors block off the road and have a huge firework show. The fireworks started about a week before the fourth and occurred every night. I would like to ask them how much they spent on fireworks. Well, they did not disappoint and all of the other neighborhoods did not disappoint either. It sounded like it was a war zone with how many fireworks were going off. Afterwards, the road were pretty much completely covered with fireworks.

Here is a movie so you can hear and see some of them. It was hard to get them, so I am all over the place, sorry, but at the end it is a view from the back of the house.

dancing machines

Jaedon LOVES the song 'I Gotta Feelin' So their favorite thing to do lately is to DANCE!! Once Livy's little hips get a shakin' it seems like she is never going to stop. And there is one part in there where Jaedon has quite a move...looks like a mix of Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson.
