ouchies, and just cute

On Thursday, I believe, or maybe Friday..., Jaedon and Livy were outside playing and I was inside making dinner. I could see them from the sliding glass door, and had it opened so I could hear them. Well, after a while I heard Livy start to cry, (and it was her, "I am really hurt!" cry). So I hurriedly went to the door and found Livy picking herself up off the ground, and Jaedon had a look of, "Oh no! I am in trouble!" As I went to pick Livy up I noticed on her forehead that she had quite the scrapes. But they weren't bleeding, just looked more like a REALLY bad rug burn or something. Her hair was pulled back in elastics, but on the one side that had gotten it real bad her hair looked like it had been pulled out of the elastic. After a while though, it just wasn't looking right to me, so I kind of grabbed the hair that was coming out, and out came a big chunk of hair. After I had pulled that out, then I noticed that an even bigger chunk was still in the elastic with the rest of her hair that was still attached. Poor girl. Not really sure what exactly happened. But they were playing on the slide by the side walk and I believe their was some innocent pushing involved.

This is the chunk that was still in the elastic.

Then yesterday we went for a picnic at a park with lots of our friends. One of them had a batting machine, so of course Jon was over there participating. Luckily, one of my friends had her camera there and got this very cute shot of Jaedon watching Jon. (Thanks Suzette!)

BIG baby

(That big white blob thing on top of her head is her hand)
This baby for the most part has been measuring about right on with where she should be during this whole pregnancy until last Thursday... I went in for my appointment and the doctor measured my belly and said, "I think we need to get an ultrasound and just see how big this baby actually is, because you are measuring 3-4 weeks early." Which kind of surprised me because the last appointment I had, and all previous ones as well, she would be right on or barely over. So I thought that I might actually have a somewhat normal sized child. Oh was I wrong! I went in today for the ultrasound and I am 31 and a half weeks along, but the baby was measuring at 35 weeks. And according to their calculations she weighed 5 something (I can't really remember), but it was almost 6 pounds (the 6 pounds stuck in my head more than what they said about the 5 pounds). So I guess we will just wait and see what the doctor says next week at my appointment. I am really hoping that maybe they will move the due date... but probably not, because they didn't move it with Liv. (FYI: Jaedon weighed 8 lbs. 3 oz., and Livy weighed 9 lbs. 2.5oz.) Good news is that apparently she has lots of hair! Okay, and that she is healthy, and there is enough fluid in there for her to do somersaults in. ;)

splash

This morning it was pretty nice and Jaedon has been asking to get this little pool out. So today was the day and they had quite the time.

And then the fun really started when the slide got brought outI was quite impressed that Jaedon actually went head first

Livy is our little water baby, but she didn't want to try out the head first thing

Mother's Day

I am not sure if I was quite deserving of everything that was done for me. But I know for sure that I have the BEST husband in the world. He is so very thoughtful and creative.
My Mother's Day started out with Jon making me breakfast. Some scrambled eggs, and orange rolls. MMMMM!
Jon had taken Jaedon the night before to get me something from the store. And whenever he takes Jaedon with him to get me something, Jaedon always wants to get pink roses. So I got some pink roses, and a movie to watch.
And Jon came up with a very cute and clever candy bar card.

Dear Sweettart, We hope you can Take 5 out of your crazy schedule to read the note from your Air Heads. We wanted to take you to the Symphony,

but I guess this will have to work instead. We hope you Snicker at our attempt for creativity. The other day was we passed the Reese's Factory, we couldn't help but Burst with happiness because we have the greatest mom and most beautiful wife in the world. Dad can't wait for his

100 Grand Pay Day so he can buy you that awesome leather sofa and loveseat you deserve so much! You truly are a Whatchmacallit, Life Saver, and you bring us Mounds of Joy! We hope you have an Extra special Mother's Day. We love you very much. You're the best!! Love Your, Swedish Fish

Then for lunch he warmed me up some leftovers we had from the night before. I then went to church by myself, since Jaedon and Livy were sick. And I was told to enjoy the 3 hours that I had away from the kids. Jon marinated some steaks and made Italian potatoes, corn on the cob, and some rolls for dinner. And of course to top it all off we had some ice cream. And enjoyed watching Marley and Me. It was definitely a very good Mother's Day for me, and I hope everyone else enjoyed theirs as much as I did.

Father Son Camp Out

This weekend was the Father and Son Camp Out for our ward. It would have been the first year that Jon and Jaedon would have gone, but unfortunately Jaedon came down with a nasty cough. So we decided that they should just have the camp out in the front room. Jaedon loved every minute of it!

Helping set up the tent
Jaedon was a very good helper
We even got the pine trees to give it more of a camp out feel We then had tinfoil dinners for dinner
And what would camping be without some s'mores Then we took a little "hike" to a friends house who were having a little firework show
The 2 camping buddies ready for bed...Unfortunately Jaedon didn't last too long. As soon as he fell asleep he had quite the coughing fit. So we took him back in his bed where he could be propped up. But Jon was so tired that he actually slept there in the tent through the night.

what's in a name

Well, I am now 30 weeks!! YEAH...only 10 weeks, (or hopefully less), to go! Here are some profile pictures of the growing belly. Sorry no shots of the face because I wouldn't want you to be scared of the second chin that I am growing. :)

My cute little buddy came and got me out of bed the other day, and as I stood up and was waddling towards the door he says, "WHOA...you got a BIG belly!"
So finally to get to the title of the post, (this is for you Rach!). Jon and I haven't really talked a lot about names with this pregnancy. And I don't really know why either. But if you asked Jaedon what we should name the baby, he will tell you, "Princess Aurora". But way back when, when we were pregnant with Jaedon, and before we knew that he was going to be a boy or girl, our top girl names were Olivia and Sophia/Sofia. Obviously we all ready have an Olivia. Sophia/Sofia is and has still been at the top of the list, and no other names have really come by that we like more.
But when I was first pregnant with this one, I would walk around the house doing whatever with "Sophia Loren" running through my head. I wasn't really sure who this person was, but thought it was some famous/celebrity person. And then later found out that indeed she was a celebrity, she is an actress. Well, a good while back I had a dream. It was one of those vivid dreams. And in the dream, I believe I was dreaming, and the name "Sophia/Sofia Lorraine" came to me. (Lorraine is my Grandma, my Dad's mom.) And then next in the dream I dreamt I went and told Jon. He wasn't as excited about it as I was. And then in real life when I was telling him about my dream, I pretty much got the same reaction as in the dream.
I believe we will probably stick with Sophia/Sofia, but it isn't set in stone. And actually in the last little while Jaedon has been starting to say that the baby's name is going to be Sophia/Sofia. So maybe we should go with it, since Jaedon is calling the baby that name now.
With all that said though. I have issues. With this pregnancy I told myself that I wasn't going to tell anyone what we were thinking of naming the baby, but of course that is hard for me to do. But I have a hard time when people call my unborn child by the name that we are thinking of. I don't really know exactly why. To me the baby is not born yet, you haven't seen it to see if the name fits, and of course it is not written down on the birth certificate. So, for now while it is still in my womb, it is known as the baby.
I didn't realize it with Jaedon, and maybe no one ever called him Jaedon while in the womb. But with Livy I definitely noticed it and realized with her that I had some issues with calling the baby by the name we were thinking of naming the child.
All right I am done with that little tangent. Here are some cute photos though of Jaedon and Liv.
