vacation

Jon had his last day of medical school today! He is officially done. (Well, I guess graduation day would actually make it official, but you get the point. ) Now time for some little rest and relaxation before he becomes a slave to residency, and I become a single mother. We are headed to OBX (Outer Banks). We are going with 6 other families from our class, that definitely have become our "family" out here. Here is the house we will all be staying in with 14 adults and 13 kids! (The first year of medical school we only had 3 kids between all of us)

party

Last night I went to Relief Society and when I came home I saw this in the front room!
They went and got a movie from the redbox, popped some popcorn, and had treats. Jaedon made sure that the trees were put up around the tent.

LIVE THE LIFE

My friend Kellie is having a giveaway on her blog. Let me tell you about this giveaway. You don't want to pass this one up! Some may consider it as a "diet", but it is far from that. It is how we should all be living our lives! It is called 'LIVE THE LIFE by Kristi Approved'. The first thing that I love about this, is the founder and her partner, are teamed up with their husbands (yes, this is for men as well), they are from Utah, and Kristi is a Nurse and a Nutritionist. And if you have any questions with the plan you get them personally, not some tech support person. So let me tell you a little bit of how the plan works. EVERYTHING is planned out for you! They give you the menu for the meals for the week, and you eat the same thing for a whole week. They have a shopping list for you, and even have the workout planned out for you as well. The meals you can prepare ahead of time, and so all you have to do is grab it and eat! Another great thing about the meals is they are yummy, and if you are starving you get to ADD a meal! Tell me what "diet" lets you add more food if you need to!? And of course if you are too full, then you take one away. When I did the 7 Day Challenge, at first I was quite full after eating my meals and surprisingly really liked the meals. I lost 3 pounds at the end of the week and a couple of days later, had lost 2 more! After the week was over, I realized just how horribly I had been eating before, and that I needed to make some big changes all around. Just go and check it out and read it and try it for yourself. Even if you don't want to do the 7 Day Challenge, at least sign up so you can have access to find out more about it! So go here and get started!

buzz

Jon and Jaedon got haircuts the other day, and I get frustrated when I cut their hair. I think it is because I envision what it should look like, but then it seems to never turn out that way. So I always cuss Jon's hair. Jaedon on the other hand, isn't too bad to cut his hair other than he always whines about getting it done. But when I was blending it, I got it a little too short, and the sides looked kind of funny to me compared to the top. So I asked Jaedon if he wanted a buzz. He said ya! Then I kept telling him how it would look, and he kept telling me "ya, okay". So I took a pass down the middle, and then another. Then Jaedon said, "I don't want all my hair gone!" Which then I said, "Too late." Then tears began to flow as I finished it off.
He continued to cry for quite some time. This then brought me back to when I was a little girl and I think I was about Kindergarten age, so about Jaedon's age. My mom had put my hair in pigtails, and I remember absolutely hating it. I love you mom! :) I remember tears were shed, and how self-conscious I felt as we went to the school for a back to school night or something. I don't think I ever had pigtails again. Which will be the case for my little buddy. No more buzz cuts for this kid.
Livy wanted in on the picture action, and wanted a picture of her band-aid.

Easter dress

Since Conference Weekend was over Easter, and we were out of town the week before that, we put the kids in their Easter attire this Sunday. I had a hard time this year finding something that I really liked. I usually get their outfits at The Children's Place because you can usually get a steal of a deal there, but this year I just was not in love with anything. So I went hunting for something. I came across Livy's dress and really liked it, but I couldn't find anything to match for Sofia. BUT, I did come a across a shirt for a bigger girl in size 4, and I thought, I could adjust this so it fits Sof. So I did. I cropped the sleeves just a bit and had to bring the neck in as well, and of course tighten it up around the chest/belly area. With some of the scraps left over from adjusting the sleeves, I made a tie for Jaedon. I think they turned out pretty well, and they worked.
Trying to get all the kids to cooperate for a photo..., was kind of painful. I did have some really cute pink shoes for Sofia, but her feet have all ready out grown them! So just picture some really cute shoes on her feet. Very frustrating. Sofia was not a happy camper to be taking pictures.
This was the best shot I could get of Sof.

Adventures in Nebraska and Easter

Sorry, another monster post! :)
We took off for Nebraska on Saturday morning, and seems like we have been in the car ever since. Yes, we drove and took the kids with us. It was quite the whirlwind of a trip, and with adventures around every corner. Livy definitely gave us a run for our money this trip. The first night when we stopped at a hotel we took them swimming in the pool, well hot tub. We were all in the hot tub, and there were some little girls in there with us and we got to talking to them. Jon and I were sitting next to each other with Livy in between us, and I was holding Sofia. Next thing I know I look down and Livy is face down under the water. She wasn't moving, I quickly grabbed her arm and pulled her up, and the look on her face still brings me to tears whenever I think about it. It was a horrible look of fright, and it took her a little bit to finally start coughing and breathing. That night all I could think of was how my worst nightmare was coming to life, and it was happening right next me! Their were a lot of tears shed that night as I was trying to fall asleep.
The next morning we were all just about ready to head out again when Livy tripped over her boots and went flying head first into the safe box. I went and picked her up and she just kept turning her head back and forth. I sat down on the bed with her and turned her to face me, and then I saw blood every where! Which resulted in me screaming and scaring Jon. She ended up just having a bloody nose, but I think she possibly could have broken it.
Then on the last day of our trip we had every thing packed in the car and Livy was getting ready to walk down the steps of our little TLF (Temporary Lodging Facility) apartment, which had 3 little steps. She again tripped over her boots and fell face first down the steps, which resulted in scrapping her nose up pretty good. So as you look through the pictures, you will know why Livy's face looks so beat up.
Where we spent most of the trip. The kids did really well with all the traveling.
You can kind of see Livy's swollen nose There was lots of playing on playgrounds while there. This playground was right outside our TLF
This playground is the one that the kids will be spending a lot of time at in our new neighborhood!
I didn't take very many pictures of the house inside because I thought I could get them off from the internet listing, but it is all ready off. This was Jaedon's one request for a house..., a fireplace! So that Santa could come down.
This is in the master bedroom. The bathroom is just behind Jon and the closet is to the left.
Our new home come May 24th
Back on the road. Livy's nose after falling down the steps
Livy's nose all scabbed up The kids, well Jaedon was excited to get home, because then that meant that the Easter Bunny was coming!
Sofia was not very happy... but then she spotted her basket
I love Livy's face in these next 2 pictures.
It took Jaedon a bit to find his... in the dryer.
We then had an Easter Egg hunt with all the neighbor kids out on the playground
Happy Easter!!
