Our next stop along our travelings was in Mishawaka Indiana, just outside of South Bend. If you have traveled across the country you may have noticed billboard signs for 'Steaks N Shakes'. So we decided to try it out. And we were quite pleased! It was a fun little environment. It had an old time diner theme to it. The kids got these hats...

and put these cardboard cars together, and then decorated with stickers. We then hit up the bowling alley next door. The kids loved it! And it was so cute to see them in little bowling shoes, and carry these big old balls.There were a couple of times though that I was afraid that Liv was going to drop her ball on her toe.

Before we left the good old town of Hershey we had to hit up Chocolate World one last time.

We're really going to miss this place! We also made a stop at the actual Penn State Campus. We just wanted to see the stadium though. We had never been to State College the whole time we had lived there. We even stopped and got ice cream. Dad, I got the Peach Paterno just for you, and it was pretty good.

We then stopped the night in Pittsburgh where the kids were just dying to go swimming.

We had originally planned to all go to a Pirates game that evening, but by the time rolled around I was tired, and Sofia was not being a pleasant child. So Jon and Jaedon decided to go...

graduation

Yes the day that we all have been waiting for has come!! Jon graduated from medical school from Penn State!! Reading the Hippocrates Oath Our friend and good neighbor Jenni took our pictures for us. And when I say "us", I mean all of our LDS medical class friends, 17 adults and 14 kids. This is one great bunch of people. (We are missing Jeff and Jessica though). These great people became our family and we did a lot together. I am going to miss them and all our fun times we had together. I am going to really miss all these fun ladies! Goodly parents! Much thanks to all of our family for all your love and support! Getting commissioned to a Captain!

The Golds Humanism Award

The Saturday right before graduation they held the awards ceremony. Jon received The Golds Humanism Honor Society Award. This award is voted on by their peers. So if they were to be treated by someone in their class, who would they want it to be. So that is how they are chosen.

In the morning we were able to go to a brunch, and they were recognized there and said some kind of little oath thing.

We were able to take our whole family which was really fun Then later at a Luncheon, he was given the actual award at the Awards Ceremony.

So I knew I was going to be playing catch up! Oh well, but before we left Hershey, and while my sister and mom were there, we went down to a Baltimore Orioles game. The kids love going because they get to ride on the "train" (Light Rail)

They even were able to see the moscot

But this is the REAL reason why they love going to this ball park!! A bouncy house!

And they were able to take some practice swings.

pros and cons

Well, as most of you know, we are on our way to Nebraska! We left Wednesday and have been taking our time. Actually we are only allowed so many miles to travel in a day as well. But I am the only one awake at the moment and so with some free time, I thought I would let you know things I am going to miss and things that I am looking forward to. First of all and definitely the first, I am going to miss all of our awesome friends from Hershey, especially our friends from our class. They truly became more than just our friends..., they were our family. And it was very hard to leave them and say good bye. Of course I cried. We love you all so very much and miss you all terribly. I am going to miss how green everything is. The TALL big trees. The awesome rain storms. How close we were to so many attractions. Hershey Park, Chocolate World, and FOR SURE the Outlets! I am going to miss all of their fun things they did for holidays as well. I am looking forward to being a homeowner! To be moving on to the next step in our lives. To be able to explore a new place and see what it has to hold for us. For Jaedon to be starting Kindergarten. And just the overall newness of everything. Nebraska here we come!!

I hate doing more than one post in one day, but I need to be all caught up before we move so I am not playing catch up.

During our second year we went over to a 4th year med student's house and they showed us what their family gave him for a graduating present. It was an old Dr's bag. So as I was deciding on something to do for Jon, I thought how perfect an old antique bag would be for him going into Family Medicine. (Thanks Jones's) So I went on a search and couldn't find any thing I really liked, and that was affordable. So I talked with my mom and she was able to find one and some instruments, and that would be Jon's graduation present from my family. I love it and Jon loves it as well. Much thank yous to my family.
