We had a wonderful Christmas Eve. We started out the evening with a yummy dinner. (We were going to go to some friends to eat, but Jaedon ended up getting a major fever. So that is why he has on his hoodie. He was cold.)

For our Christmas program Jaedon and Livy performed an awesome Jingle Bells song. And Jon read us a story, The Night Before Christmas.

Afterwards we opened up our PJ's... and their ornaments. Christmas Day

we had to wait for Sof to wake up...

and then made our way down the stairs.

I LOVE the excitement and pure joy on their faces.

Sof didn't really know what to think...

but she sure enjoyed all of LIVY'S things.

family date night

Yesterday we went and did some family bonding time.

We first stopped at the Mormon Trail Center for a Ginger Bread display that they put on every year.

Some of them were quite creative and very detailed. I liked this one, I think because of the size.

But this one I think was my ultimate favorite. Church Ball!

It can get rough out there. We then went to eat and then headed off to a hockey game.

The "loudness" was a little much for Sof at times.

I will be honest here, I wasn't too excited to see the game at first. Mainly because when you watch it on TV you can't tell where in the world the puck is, and then the one time that I went to a hockey game at Utah State, they just kept blowing the whistle due to "icing", (whatever that is). So my experience with hockey to that point was none-to-impressed. But I will say that last night was quite enjoyable. You could see the puck and the game wasn't stopping every 2 minutes for something. So if you are going to watch hockey, do it "live" and preferably a team that has some skill. :)

Jon and the kids were sliding down the stairs on Jaedon's little sleeping bag.

It started out like this...

but then resulted like this.

Jaedon throwing a fit at the top of the stairs because he fell off. I finally cut Sof''s mullet off. Much better. We decorated a ginger bread house the other day for Family Home Evening.

The kids were doing a great job.

Sof's contribution to the whole project was making sure the candy tasted all right.

"yep, they taste pretty good. Continue."

While the kids were up getting a bath I added some things to the house. Jon kept saying how he wanted a hot tub. So I gave him a hot tub. There's Gingey enjoying a nice "frosting" tub with a glass of lemonade. And if you can't tell, it has a mailbox (which Jon and the kids did), with a stack of wood so Gingey won't get cold.

into the 30's

Today marks the day that Jon entered this world 30 years ago. I am so grateful for him and what a wonderful father and husband he is.

We love you Sweets, and hope you have a wonderful day!

oompa-loompa, turkey leg, and tree

I really need to download my pictures more often. But here are 3 posts, lumped into one.

First off is Sofia trying to turn herself into an oompa-loompa...

by doing this and more of this. And then she went straight to the bathtub. At Thanksgiving dinner, Jon was eating one of the legs, and Sof decided that she wanted a go at it.

She really liked it!

Full of yummy food.

And then the day after Thanksgiving we went and got our tree and got all of the decorations up.

When I got the camera out, Sofia gave me a big cheeser while saying cheese.

And the kids were putting the "stockings" to good use.

After we got the tree all decorated we watched Polar Express while sipping some yummy hot chocolate.

Let the Christmas season begin!!
