dress up

**update**: So after writing my last post I have finally realized something about myself. I am an emotional person. Granted I don't show it very much and hold a lot of things in, I am emotional. Pregnant or not pregnant. I always wondered where we got Jaedon sometimes, because he is an emotional and sensitive kid. He just takes after his mom.
Livy is the dress up QUEEN! If I get her dressed in the morning, she shortly will be downstairs getting some sort of dress up on. (I think I am going to give up on getting her dressed.) Lately they have been either her gymnastics outfits, or dance outfits. We even went and picked Jaedon up from school yesterday in a leotard (which was way too small), and a tutu. I didn't have the energy to make her change.
(This particular outfit is a little big, and she just wears this one when the other gymnastic outfit is dirty.)

emotional

It seems with this pregnancy I have been quite emotional. If you have ever seen Dumb & Dumber, picture them in the hotel room bawling their eyes out at the TV, and then come to find out it is just a commercial. That is me.
See this pretty lady? This is my Grandma Shaw, my mom's mother.
Recently we have found out that she has Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (B-cell). It is at Stage 3, ranging from her neck to her thighs. But the cancer is a Stage 1, meaning it is slow growing. Today she is starting her treatment.
Times like these I SO wish that I lived closer to my family. If you know my family we are very close on my mother's side. It seemed growing up we were always over to Grandma's house for something. I even lived with my Grandparents for about a year during college. Which I wish I would have taken more advantage of. My Grandparents have always been there for me and the other grandchildren as well. It seems like they never missed any activity I had.
So, I have had a hard time with this. I think being pregnant, the knowledge of the disease that I have, and being so far away, have all played into me being quite emotional about it. My Grandma has started a blog to inform us all of everything that is happening. And almost every time I go to it, and see her picture to the side, I automatically get teary eyed. For weeks I wanted to call her, but knew if I did, I would just break down into tears. Finally my Grandma called me, which caught me off guard, which was probably good because I was able to hold it together.
I know my Grandma will be fine. She is a fighter. She would have to be, to be a Principal of Washington High for so many years. (It was a High School in Ogden that was for troubled youth, I guess you could say.) But most of all I know everything will be fine because of the knowledge I have of my Savior's plan for all of us.
I love you Grandma. And am so grateful and blessed to have you in my life. Thank you for all the love and support that you have given me. And for being such a wonderful example in all things. Be strong, and know that my thoughts and prayers are with you always.

caution... wii remote

It seems like forever since I have blogged, but not too much has been going on. Jon has been at the Children's Hospital this month and it has been a busy one. I think I need to make a t-shirt that says, "Have you seen my husband?" ;)
Pregnancy is going well. I am 16 weeks now, and will find out April 22nd what we are having.
Now to the matter of this post. Last night Jon was playing the wii, golfing, which he does EVERY night. He says its his outlet. Whatever helps I guess. Well, when he was done playing Jaedon decided that he wanted a turn playing. Jaedon likes the sword fighting one though. On about Jaedon's third swing Sofia walked by him at just the right moment to get a fast swift slice of her own to the corner of her eye from the wii remote.
The worst part was that Jaedon acted like nothing happened. Sofia is laying on the ground screaming her head off, and Jaedon is glued to the TV to see how he did. We had a little talk about that.
This was shortly after...
How bad did it hurt Sof? And here it is this morning.
Nice little shiner.

gymnastics

These cute kiddos started gymnastics last night. And they were so excited.
I was afraid of Livy and her being too shy, but as we were waiting for the class ahead of us to finish the other kids in their class started to line up and Livy told me that she needed to go stand over there. Some of the girls also wore leotards and next time Livy really wants to wear one.
Jaedon had to have his shirt tucked in the whole time, because he didn't want anyone to see his belly. They both did really well, and caught on to the things they were doing pretty fast. When we were going home we asked them what their favorite part was; Livy's was the trampoline, and Jaedon's was climbing the rope wall. They had a hard time going to bed too, because they were still pretty pumped about.

bathroom tile

We finally have gotten around to one of the last things that we wanted to do as home upgrades. All of our bathrooms have linoleum in them, and we wanted to put some tile in them. We do only have one bathroom done, with 2 more to go, but I have loved the difference and feel that it gives.
Here is the bathroom with the old linoleum...
and here is the after. After looking at the pictures it doesn't seem like much of a change. The tile is close to the same design and color as the linoleum. (Which is why we have waited so long to do the floors, because it wasn't that ugly of linoleum.) Next, on to our bathroom so we can get rid of the carpet where our tub is. And not have to worry so much about the kids splashing, and when they get out of the tub making big puddles.

cravings

It seems every time I get pregnant I kind of crave the same things. One thing is peperoncini peppers with Baked Lay's. I really would eat this even if not pregnant too. The salt of the chips balances out the hotness of the peppers.
Any way, one afternoon while eating this, Sofia was bound and determined to have one. No matter what I said or did, I was not going to change her mind. So to let her realize on her own that she wouldn't like it, I gave her one. She actually liked it...
and sucked and gnawed on it for awhile.
And then... the hotness sunk in.
She did come back for another one a little later, and that one didn't last as long as the first one.

more babies

So speaking of babies, we are happy to announce that we will be having baby #4 due on September 10th. We had our first appointment on Thursday and the baby was measuring ahead 4 days. No surprise really there since with all the other ones they have been the same. I am just praying that this baby doesn't get bigger than 10 pounds.
