Another trip to Utah!

And this is the reason why... My little brother MacArthur, but everyone pretty much knows him as Mac, is getting married July 22, 2008. Yes this is the same brother that I went out to Utah earlier this year for. He got home from his mission in May, and actually Jessica got home from her mission at the same time. They were high school sweet hearts, and everything obviously worked out after the mission. Congratulations you guys, and can't wait to see you all.

Let the training begin!!!

Jon's sister, Liz, called a couple of weeks ago and wanted us to do a triathlon with her in October in Virginia. My first thoughts were, "Are you kidding me!? Yeah, right!" But now it has consumed my thoughts, and of course I have agreed to do it. I have been pretty athletic all my life, but I have never done anything like this in my life! And of course haven't been as active. So if anyone has any suggestions, pointers, help, they are all more than welcome. Oh, and by the way, it is just a sprint triathlon, so not quite as bad, but still going to be grueling.

Happy 4th of July

To celebrate the 4th of July we thought we would hit up the water park at Hershey park, but it was overcast, and had been raining all morning, but we thought 'what the heck, we will give it a try!' Well, it was freezing for the little kiddos. Jaedon's poor little lips and a good portion around his mouth was bright purple, but every time we would ask him if he wanted to go because it was too cold he said no. So, finally after hypothermia set in we talked him in to leaving and coming back later and we could ride on the "bumpy" roller coaster.

We then went to the Med Center and the Hershey Symphony played in the rain. We got some free ice cream and drinks. Which Jaedon of course loved!

Towards the end they played a tribute to each service man, Army, Marines, Air Force, etc. They were told to stand up when their song came on, but of course Jon didn't because he doesn't like the attention. (what a pair we make, because I wouldn't have stood up either), but I was really trying to get him too. So this is the Air Force fight song...

We sure enjoyed our 4th and are grateful for the freedoms that we have and can enjoy.

More summer fun!!

Yesterday we mostly cleaned and recovered from our trip to Assateague, but don't think that would stop us from hitting up a Baltimore Orioles game. Jon loves the summer, just so that we can go to some baseball games. And Jaedon really likes them as well. This was Livy's first time of going to one though, and she did really well, as long as she had something in her hands to play with and chew on. Riding the "train" (light rail), to the game. Taking in some of the game. 'I live for this' Jon really wanted to get our picture from our seats with the field in the background, but we saw this playground and Jaedon really wanted to go and play there, so we missed our opportunity of getting it at our seats, but down by the playground area they had a big mural, so we opted for that photo moment instead. Having a good time! Jaedon playing around at the playground.

They had this big bouncy gym thing, and Jaedon was having a blast in it. Oh, and all of this was free. They even had this fast pitch thing that the kids could be the pitcher. I tried getting a picture of Jaedon throwing it, but he threw one ball and was done. But back to this bouncy thing. They would only allow so many kids in at a time, and so when it was Jaedon's turn to get out, he was not budging!! Of course he threw the fit, I tried threatening him to get him out and nothing. Finally Jon had to crawl through the little opening and literally drag him out of there. He put on quite the show. I wish I would have kept recording though and had gotten the whole fit he was throwing.

Assateague Island

We took a little trip to Assateague Island for this first part of the week. We left on Monday and came back Wednesday. It was really fun, and quite the adventure. When first arriving we were told over and over, to not leave any food out, or else the wild horses (more like ponies) would eat it, and also not to leave it in your tent even, or else they will try busting through your tent to get the food. Jaedon loved going to the beach, and running from the waves. We flew kites, looked for sea shells, played in the sand, played in the ocean, saw some weird looking jelly fish, saw some ghost crabs, and some kind of weird crab kind of thing that dug into the sand, some little bitty clams that would come to the top with each wave and then dig back down when the wave was gone. It was so fun that Jaedon didn't want to leave!
