Today Jaedon and I had a dentist appointment. It was Jaedon's first time going, and so there was a lot of gearing him up to go. Every time we would talk about the dentist he seemed really excited though. So we walk in and get all the paper work stuff done, and then they come and call Jaedon back, I asked her if I could go back, and she said, "No, we only allow the patients back there." OH BOY! This could turn into a disaster. Jaedon was over playing with toys at the time, so I called him over and told him it was time to go back. Of course he grabbed my hand for me to go back with him, and I had to tell him no, but he was still tugging on my hand, and then I told him I would be back in a minute. With that said, he walked back with the girl. A few minutes later it was my turn. How the office was set up, there weren't rooms, they were more like cubicles. So, I saw Jaedon sitting there being perfectly good while the girl was looking at his teeth. I was in the "stall" next to him so I was listening carefully to see if he would make any whimpers of any sort, but I never heard anything. Then they got up and they took him BACK to the waiting room all by him self! I was probably another 10 mins. Worrying the whole time what he was doing and if he was okay. When I got out there, he had the saddest look on his face, and was almost into tears and then he said, "Mom, I'm sad..., you weren't here." I think they need to change how they do some things there at the office! But Jaedon did awesome and had no cavities and was excited about his toothbrush and toy.

Finally Jaedon is liking to be in "boy" dress-ups, (rather than Livy's tutus). Jaedon came out and wanted to be superman. And of course Livy was not far behind carrying the spiderman outfit. She just loves doing everything that Jaedon is doing. Luckily Jaedon is a pretty good example to follow. Just to show, here is a conversation that Jaedon was having with Livy this morning eating breakfast: "Hey Sweetheart....(giggling) You're my Sweetheart.... I love you!"

These past couple of days have been spent just doing what we do best sometimes...NOTHING!! Well, not really, but here is Jaedon and Livy, ready for church. I thought they just looked pretty cute, (other than Jaedon's really squinty eyes..., but I guess Livy's eyes look kind of squinty too). Oh well.

I think I have officially popped. Or it could just be the dress. I am 14 weeks here and to me it looks like I could be carrying twins! I have closed my Etsy Shop, and blog. Yes..., sad I know. But if ever you would like something made, I would be more than happy to help you out. Because I find joy in making something, and when they turn out this cute, it is just hard to not make them! :) Jon was on-call last night, so I finally got around to making myself a nursing cover. It is pretty simple to make, but the instructions that I got said they did it in like 30-45 mins. I was watching American Idol during the time, so maybe that slowed me down, because it took me way longer than 30-45 mins. Or maybe it is my perfectionism coming out, that makes me take a little longer. Either way, I was really pleased with how it turned out.

Kung Fu Panda

The other day Jaedon happened to fall asleep during the day, which equals-doesn't go to bed until 9 or 10, (9 if we're lucky). So when he came out of his room I asked him if he wanted to come with me and lay in bed with me and watch TV. He agreed, and off we went. I was hoping for something miraculous to happen, like him falling asleep from boredom laying there with me. But of course that didn't happen and he was playing around with whatever he could find...Jon's old watch. After about an hour he started to wander in and out of the room, and for some reason closing the door to just a crack behind him. Well, I had gone out earlier and gotten me some Runts from the never-ending Christmas candy supply. I am kind of particular how I eat things sometimes, and so I laid them out on my belly so that I could eat my least favorite ones first. I can't remember now what it was I was watching...oh wait, yes I do. I was going back and forth between the Bachelor and the Superstar Dance thingy. Jaedon was out of the room at this time, and of course had left the door just barely cracked. Then all of a sudden I hear this little, "hiii-yahh!" Which is quickly followed by a loud bang on the door, and seeing Jaedon kicking his little leg up and karate chopping the door open. All the while, the noise scared me to death and I am sure I jumped at least 5 feet off the bed. But I caught my candy before it fell to the floor. I just started to laugh and proclaimed to Jaedon that "he scared the crap out of me." He just kind of giggled, like nothing really just happened and said,"Yeah. That was like Kung Fu Panda!" What a kid! What a kid.

Baby Bassett #3

Today we had an official ultrasound, due to that when I went to the Dr's office, and they did the ultrasound there, they were getting the baby measuring a week early. But I am sure of the date of my last menstrual period. So any way we had another ultrasound. At the Dr's office they were telling me July 5th, but this ultrasound was reflecting what it would be compared to the last menstrual period which is around July 11th. So we will be sticking with around July 11th or so. But here is alittle video of the baby moving around...kind of.

a day of firsts...

On Sunday I decided to finally cut Liv's hair. The sides were falling a bit short compared to the back. So I put her in her chair, gave her some chocolaty treats, and went to cuttin'! Here are some before and afters:

The other first, is that Jaedon is now a Sunbeam!! It makes me feel kind of old. I think I may have a hard time when he goes to school. He's not my little dude anymore. Although he kind of had a hard time with it. A member of the bishopric was in primary and brought Jaedon to Jon because he was having such a hard time. So Jon had to sit with him pretty much all of class. In the morning we kept prepping him for going to Sunbeams and not Nursery anymore, but mainly his comments were that he wanted to go to Nursery. By the time we got to church though I think we had him pretty stoked in going to Primary. But when we got there it was crazy and loud, and I think that scared him a little. As I was walking out, I could see him looking around like he was a lost little child in a busy mall or something. Hopefully next week goes a little better.

Santa came and visited us on the 19th. Since we were going out to Utah and Idaho for Christmas. Jon had to go and do a rotation that morning, but Jaedon woke up early enough to let Jon see him open the presents. Livy was still sleeping though, and Jaedon kept wanting to open up Livy's stuff too.Then the next day it was off to Utah.

For our first surprise, and to all of our family was this: (Can you tell what it is!?) :)

The second surprise was to Jon. He had no idea it was coming. From a previous post you may remember me telling you how in love Jon is with smartphones. Well, I surprised him with a Samsung Omnia phone.

We stayed the first week at Jon's parents house and had a wonderful time with everyone. All of Jon's family was there. Santa even made a stop by the house early there too.

Then on Christmas morning we braved the blizzard all the way from Delta to Preston, Idaho. We made it safely, and it turned out to be a great surprise! Thank you to all the family members who helped to make it possible. :)

Jaedon and Livy loved the animals and Jaedon even wanted to bring them home with us.

The Jones family in its entirety...until the end of this month at least. (Isaac and his wife Mary are expecting.)
