sunshine

We have been seeing some nice weather the last couple of days. And today was great weather, so we got out of our cooped up apartment and enjoyed us some!
Sofia was wishing she could run around like everyone else
Here is some proof that she is standing!! Yes, standing. Of course just for short little spurts, but she is standing. She has been doing it for the last week or so now, and she will just be turning 8 months on the 10th! She is growing up way too fast.
Didn't seem to mind the grass too much Livy was waiting and waiting to hit up the swings
ahhhhh...finally Jaedon was running wild playing who-knows-what... and being a goof ball for the camera
Sadly it is supposed to rain the rest of this week come Wednesday, but it will still be in the 50's at least.

do you feel lucky?

As I was making the header for our blog, and putting the words 'do you feel lucky' on there, I kind of just kept reading it over and over. At first wondering if people would realize what it said. But then after awhile it was like I was asking myself the question. And of course I answered myself. :) As I looked at the family picture next to the words, I thought to myself, "I am lucky." Or a better way to put it is, I am blessed! I have an amazing husband that works hard not for personal gain, but to better the lives of me and our children. He is such a strength and example for me and our children to follow. He is so patient with me and our children. He is unselfish, and always so willing to give a hand when needed, (and even at times I don't even need to ask) :) I have been blessed with 3 cute little munchkins!! I may not have the patience needed at times to deal with the craziness that unfolds, but I love them more than can be imagined. I love each little personality each one has, and the joy and happiness that it brings into my life. I don't know quite exactly how life would be without any one of them a part of it. My biggest fear, and sadness would be to lose one of them at a young age. I don't know how mothers cope after losing a child. And my heart goes out to those that have. This leads to a story that just happened recently, and confirmed my question of 'do I feel lucky?" (or blessed).

On Thursday Jon was getting ready to go and get the mail, and so I suggested that why not take the kids along. Jaedon and Liv both wanted to go and wanted to ride their bikes. So off they went and I had a moment of quiet to myself, and then they were back in no time with Jaedon running through the door exclaiming that he had won! Which Jon and Livy came walking through shortly after. Then on Friday Jon was getting ready to go and pay our rent. He comes out and says, "I forgot to tell you what happened yesterday when we went to go get the mail." He then went on to tell me that while going to get the mail they were having a race to see who got there first. Then he said when they were leaving the mailbox Jaedon took off on his bike and was ready to race back home. Jon then said that he heard something that wasn't very familiar and something that he wasn't really sure what it was. But then he calmly hollered up at Jaedon to stop and wait for him and Livy to catch up some. So as Jon was hollering at Jaedon, Jaedon turned his head and was looking back at Jon which made him slow down some. Then all of a sudden a maintenance worker came speeding by on their orange mule and crossing right in front of Jaedon. Jon said that if he hadn't of hollered to Jaedon to stop, he is sure that they would have hit Jaedon! Lucky..., or blessed? Definitely blessed! I am so thankful that Jon listened to the prompting to have Jaedon stop. And then of course if something had happened, I probably would have blamed myself for throwing the idea out there that the kids go with Jon to the mailbox. :( So grateful to my Heavenly Father for looking out for us!

c'mon mom!!

Today while taking Jaedon to preschool, I was watching him through the rear view mirror. He was making some subtle faces like he was having a conversation with himself in his little beaner. Then he asks innocently, "Mom? Why do you always say no to playing Star Wars?" Which I gave a little chuckle and said. "Because you play TOO much Star Wars!" Which Jaedon then quickly replied, "WELL, we HAVE to beat all the levels!" This kid 'loves technology'! :) (And actually he always doesn't play it. Jon and him will play only one level a day.)

snowed in

If you have been watching the news you will know that we are getting hit with some pretty big snow storms this last week. We had the first big snow storm come on Friday night and it had snowed around 18 inches. Last night and today it has been snowing and they are expecting AT LEAST another foot. This is kind of sad to say, but our kids have no snow clothes! So last night before the storm hit, we searched hi and low for snow clothes, and found some things that would work so they can go out and play in all the white fluffy stuff.

This is probably, well it IS the most snow we have ever seen out here in the East, and so of course EVERYTHING is shut down and closed. This is a lot of snow for the East Coaster's.

not satisfied

Sofia is not satisfied with just crawling anymore. She has learned that you can move around on 2 feet and stand up. Of course being so young she is not even close to being some what balanced. But this girl is determined and has no fear, and is going to do it. Even if it involves bumps and bruises. She loves for you to hold her hands and let her walk around. She is actually starting to get pretty good now pulling herself up to things and just standing on her knees. Which has all happened in just the last week or so. Funny thing is, she is still kind of unstable sitting, and rolling over sometimes takes some effort.
She was supposed to be taking a nap.

boxing

We got a Wii for Christmas, and it has definitely been worth the money. Not only do Jon and I love it, but the kids love it as well. It is pretty funny to watch the kids figure it out though. Livy can only play certain things, and boxing is one that she is capable of. The other one is running, and she looks pretty cute when she does it. I need to get a video of that. But here is her and Jaedon boxing each other. (Jaedon is the champion boxer, and beats Jon and I most of the time too. He isn't a very good loser though, which we are working on. :)
